The Indonesian-American Frontiers of Science Symposium

This annual meeting of approximately forty Indonesian and forty U.S. outstanding young scientists has been held every year since 2011 in Indonesia. With outstanding leadership from the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) and support from USAID, it stimulated the formation of the Indonesian National Young Academy in 2015.

The Indonesian Science Fund (ISF)

The Indonesian Science Fund (Dana Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia, DIPI) is a research funding body established in 2016 under the auspices of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) that directly funds researchers with the aim of producing the world-class scientific research needed to build Indonesia’s global competitiveness.

The first round of funding will be in two areas: parts of the biological sciences (Life, Health and Nutrition) and social sciences (Identity, Diversity and Culture).  Grants are to be for up to $120,000 dollars a year for 3 years, with international merit-based peer review being a central feature, and a focus on funding fundamental research.
